Question by south girl: How much is this buffalo gold coin really worth if it is only being sold on TV for 10 dollars?
I am interested in by a a collectors mint gold coin, but skeptical that it is only 10 dollars. Is it really worth fifty dollars; will I be able to purchase things as if it was really money.

Here is the website of the coin.

"was to be set at $ 50 proof" in the audio ad... does that answer your question? It means "we intended to price it at $ 50 but it's not worth it". Chances are if they're charging $ 10, it's approximately $ 4 in gold.

What do you think? Answer below!

It’s NOT worth fifty dollars. It is NOT money. It’s a *copy* of money, and it says so right on the coin. It is not legal tender. It’s just a gold-clad copy of a buffalo nickel.

Its true value is only the value of the gold used to make it — which is guaranteed to be much less than $ 10 worth of gold. Keep in mind that this coin has just 14 MICROgrams of gold coating.

They could price the coin to whatever the value they wanted. Do you seriously think anything that has a face value of $ 50 would be sold for $ 10? My best guess for the Buffalo gold coin would probably worth about $ 2.50

wow…you americans sure get a lot of scams hahahahaha

listen to the video for crips sake. The talk about the original $ 50 gold piece but is this the same as the original???? “Recreates the first .9999 fine 24-karat gold coin, and the purest gold coin ever minted in America!”

Nooooooooooooo…this is a replica of that coin and contains …..wait for it….. 14 milligrams of absolutely pure gold…..ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! {sarcasm}

A $ 50 coin worth $ 10….hahahahahaha

ok let us do the math to figure out their profit margin based on the material cost of the coin’s gold content.

14 milligrams = 0.014 grams of real pure gold

1 troy ounce = 31.1035 grams

0.0014 grams = 0.014 / 31.1035 = 0.00045 troy ounces

today gold closed at $ 1725.40 US per troy ounce

That coin has $ 1725.40 x 0.00045 = $ 0.78 worth of REAL gold in it AND it will cost you ONLY $ 10.00 to own this TRINKET.

Yes definitely an investment quality piece :P What did you expect for $ 10????

Don’t buy anything sold to you on a TV commercial, specially gold. Run run away son!
